The Community Engagement Committee is proud to announce that Rothschild Leadership Academy and its formal Partners in Education, the David Rothschild Company and the Exchange Club of Columbus, have won the Partners in Education Award for:

Project of the Year Winner for Success Factor # 1
Improving Academic Performance with Readers are Leaders Project

The Community Service Committee’s reading project, Read, Lead, Succeed, aligned with RLA’s overarching goal of improving students reading skills and thus improving scores on all standardized testing.

We are excited to formalize our Partner in Education relationship with RLA during the 2015-2016 school year. The committee will meet on May 3rd at 12:30 in the Library to discuss the coming year’s plans for the partnership. We invite all who would like to learn more about the school and engage in our partnership to attend.

In Service to our Community

Volunteers of the in the Read, Lead, Succeed program read with students at Rothschild Leadership Academy. Students enjoy marking their progress and celebrating their achievements. Together, they create a fun and supportive environment to learn to read where other methods have failed.

Please remember the ladies of Hope Harbour (the battered women’s shelter) with your travel toiletries when you are traveling this Spring. They always need shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothpaste and toothbrush, etc. Also needed would be wallets and handbags in very good condition, costume jewelry and makeup. These ladies leave their homes with only what they are wearing so whatever we can donate is very much appreciated.

Please leave it next to the WNN food bin, and I will pick it up and deliver it each week. Many thanks for  your generosity.

A special thank you to Rayna Goodman for her very generous donation during the month of April.
